
Thatchers Balloon Bar: Creating a new festival icon
The Thatchers family have made cider in Somerset for over 130 years, and everybody knows they don’t let a drop leave the farm until it’s perfect.

This story began in 2023 - Thatchers asked us to help them introduce a new generation of festival revellers to the perfect pint of cider.
We imagined an experience that mixes brand impact and product trial with heritage, identity, and a simple authenticity that’s just perfectly Thatchers.
Little did we know, we were creating a new festival tradition. Now in its third year, Thatchers Balloon Bar has become an iconic sight on the UK summer festival circuit.

In 2025, the balloons touched down at Boardmasters, Victorious Festival, Kendall Calling, and Truck Festival, offering simple moments of perfection – with targeted, social ads driving interest and stoking curiosity pre-festival.
At five-meters-tall, the balloons are unmissable. And with comfortable suspended wicker basket seating and a line-up of guest DJs spinning ‘chilled tunes’, the bar invites revellers to take a break from the festival frenzy and enjoy a taste of Thatchers perfection.
And as the sun goes down, we light up the night – attracting people from across the site and providing a beautifully atmospheric, branded social media sharing backdrop.
By combining a unique, memorable experience with the simple perfection of Thatchers, we successfully introduced the brand to thousands of new fans across the UK.
What started as a great looking strategic activation has become a beloved festival fixture and a testament to how great brands and great experiences go hand in hand
